Student Radio Podhale Wave

Our radio came into being!

By decision of Prof. Iwon Grys, the Rector of PPWSZ, there came into being the Podhale Student Radio. The  Podhale Wave started on 23 April 2015 with a Gala honoured by many eminent guests such as the Head of the Polish Radio in Warsaw Mr. Andrzej Siezieniewski.

‘You are the 15^th student radio station in Poland’, said Director Siezieniewski. It is a good reason to be proud. Our gala was dignified with a session Radio Here and There” with the best Polish journalists: Maciej Starowicz, Piotr Sławeta and Tomasz Müller present.  A group of fascinated students, not only those who study journalism, whom I am honoured to supervise, create a vision of a radio station in our College. Radio means continuous creative work. It means new ideas and challenges. And young people have never been short of those.

The radio programme has been so planned as to offer something interesting for everybody. During an academic year every half an hour there is the news service for the curious and inquisitive; live interviews; there will be a programme for drivers conducted by Olga Ludwikowska, and gourmets will definitely like the programme The way to your heart leads through your stomach. The fair sex should like Always beautiful and young. In the programme What do you call it we shall poke fun at the most interesting and funniest names of companies. Who has not met our Rector, Prof. Iwon Grys, will have a chance to hear his voice in Rectors Minutes. Apart from that – lots of music, of course.

The Podhale Student Radio is also present in the Facebook where we inform you about our development and always ask for your opinion, suggestions and new ideas. We encourage all students to help us in the dream project of Student Radio. There is a job for everybody in our radio and everybody is welcome, and young creative people are simply indispensable. We have not failed our Rector, Prof. Iwon Grys who has declared that we are ‘the apple of his eye’.
